Hey guys!!
How are ya?? I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I had grand plans for the weekend then I was hit with food poisoning. THE ABSOLUTE WORST!! Not totally recovered but I’m getting there!
So as we have done in the last 2 years, I’m gonna go over my favourites!! If you’re new here, I do this twice a year – in June/July and in December. This year, I’ve tried a bunch of new hair and skin products and it’s important that I share them with you. There are so many so I’m gonna condense the list to just a few!
This is a veryyyy old favourite but I’ve recently fallen back in love with this product. The detangling properties of this leave in are unmatched – it’s definitely the best detangling leave in I’ve tried. It is super moisturising and a little goes a long way. I use it alone with an oil and styler for a wash and go OR with a cream, oil and styler for braid outs or twist outs.
This styler is honestly one of the best stylers I have EVER tried. It has a lot of slip so you can work it through the hair really easily. It also gives loads of hold without making the hair crunchy and dry. It has also been one of the only stylers that holds up in the humidity out here in Lagos so it’s the perfect styler for the summer if you’re going anywhere hot. Love it.
This conditioner is extremely moisturising and softening for my hair. It gives my hair definition without weighing my hair down. I think it’s meant to be a rinse out conditioner but I use it as a leave in and it works wonderfully. DevaCurl is one of the most renowned curly hair brands so they certainly know what they’re doing when it comes to hair products.
I only got this one recently but it is already one of my faves. It cleanses my hair so well without leaving my hair dry and stripped. You know that straw-like, straggly feeling you sometimes get with some shampoos?? Nah you don’t get that when it comes to this product. It actually has a bit of slip so you can LIGHTLY detangle with it. Plus ginger is a hair growth stimulant. It’s a win-win.
This has become my fave hair oil in the last 6 months or so. It is heavy enough to seal my hair and keep the moisture in but light enough that it doesn’t weigh my hair down. Loads of people use this for pre-poos but I personally just use it for sealants or for scalp massages. It has blueberry extract, which is packed with antioxidants and helps reduce hair fall. It also smells really yummy.
This cream cleanser has really helped my skin. My fellow dry skin people can tell you that most cleansers leave our skin feeling stripped and tight but this one cleans my skin while hydrating it. It is formulated with natural, organic ingredients and doesn’t contain artificial fragrances and colours which may irritate the skin. My skin loves this stuff.
This golden liquid is a powerhouse. My skin is so soft, moisturised and glows like no other when I use it. It can also be used for your hair. It is full of vitamin A and vitamin E, which can help reduce wrinkles, fine lines and acne marks. I use it as my daytime moisturiser. The only thing that rivals argan oil for a face oil in my opinion is rosehip oil. These two oils are incredible for your skin. Ensure you buy pure argan oil so you get all the benefits and nutrients.
This peel has legit saved my skin! OMG. Like I can’t even describe. I have dry skin so naturally my skin looks really dull and tired sometimes. The word ‘peel’ always scares me because I just imagine flaking skin and red patches. But this peel is EXTREMELY mild and it just lightly removes the layer of dry, gross skin. Plus vitamin C is excellent for rejuvenating, softening and brightening your skin.
These eye patches – bruh! I have dark circles and fine lines under my eyes – nothing seems to make them go away permanently and it can be so annoying and not very cute when I’m wearing make up. These patches plump, brighten and lift the under eye area. It actually helps with my dark circles, it fills in the fine lines and it moisturises the dry, under eye areas. I personally use them when I have a big event or when I just need a pick me up.
This toner and my skin are a match made in heaven. It cleanses any extra dirt left on my skin after I’ve washed it. Previously, I always found a lot of toners to be really drying and they just did nothing for my already dry skin. This toner actually hydrates and softens my skin. Plus it’s pretty accessible and affordable.
This scrub is just a spa day in a tub. It smells AMAZING and just so delicious. It also leaves my skin insanely soft and moisturised due to the coconut oil in it. I personally haven’t tried it on my face but, as a body scrub, just perfect. I use this once a week all over my body and it really gives my skin a nice glow. It’s a little on the pricey side but it lasts for ages and it is definitely worth the price!
That’s about it guys!! I have like a million other products I love but I didn’t want this post to be too long. Do you guys have any awesome hair or skin products you’ve tried this year?? Be sure to drop a comment down below!! Have a fabulous week!
Love,
Tara xXx
