Hey beautiful ones!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope 2015 is filled with joy, success, love and happiness! Here again with another feature from the lovely Mobayo!

Tell us your name, where you’re from and where you live
My name is Mobayo Oguntunde, I’m from Nigeria and I live in London.

How long have you been natural? And why did you decide to go natural?
I’ve been natural since I was born. My mum was never too big on relaxer so she decided against relaxing my hair when I was younger. Although God above knows how badly I’ve treated my hair in the past (Yay heat damage and excessive protective styling), I can only say I’ve been properly taking care of it for the last year.
What’s the best and worst thing about being natural?
Best – I think the best thing about being natural is volume! I never feel like my hair is flat or my head looks too big because my hair is always bigger lol.
Worst – The worst thing is probably the amount of time I have to give to my hair – impromptu meetings and a good hairstyle don’t really mix (praise God for buns).

Give us a brief summary of your wash day regimen
It changes all the time but on a standard wash day, I will ‘pre-poo’ the night before with olive oil. I finger detangle before getting in the shower, then I co-wash using Tresemme Naturals Conditioner. I finger detangle with some conditioner in my hair and then I wash with warm water and do a quick rinse with cold water. Then I section my hair into parts (these can range from 8-12 depending on what definition I want in my braid out). I take each part and rub in some aloe vera juice & then some oils (a little castor, a lot of coconut & jojoba) and braid them into single plaits.
If you were stuck on a desert island and you could only have ONE hair product, what would you choose?
Easy peasy; conditioner – my first hair love
Tell us two DOs and two DON’Ts for your natural hair
DOs: Try new things! My sister gets into all these products and we all do test runs at home. I’ve found some of the best products/methods this way. But also check how your hair feels so you don’t end up damaging it. Use protective styles, they are your best friends.

DON’Ts: Obsess over growth. Growth is obviously a massive desire but overall health is more important. There’s no point having thin, breaking waist length hair. Take your stylist’s word as the gospel. Of course they will have good ideas but, speaking from experience, not everything is gold.
Give us one piece of advice you would give to someone wanting to go natural
Try new things and pray to God all your hair doesn’t fall out!

A huge thank you to Mobayo for featuring on Nature’s Locks!!
