Hello people!
I hope is well with you! Here we have another Feature Friday from the lovely and multitalented Antoinette (she is a make up artist, photographer and makes the most beautiful cakes)!!

Tell us your name, where you’re from and where you live
Hi, my name’s Antoinette, I’m half Jamaican and half English and I live in East London!
How long have you been natural? And why did you decide to go natural?
I have had my hair natural all my life, although I never fully embraced it the way I do now! From the ages of 12-15, I went through a very experimental stage with my hair, regularly using hair dye without realising the damage it was causing. By the age of 16, I was aware of how blessed I was to have naturally curly hair! I decided to go back to my natural hair colour and get rid of all split ends which meant cutting my hair to shoulder length (while straight) and also boycotting heated tools (such as straighteners and curlers).

What’s the best and worst thing about being natural?
Best – how beautiful natural hair looks. It grabs a lot of attention, as not a lot of people keep their hair natural anymore.
Worst – the worst part of being natural is not knowing how it will look one day to the next. It’s quite unpredictable – you can plan a hairstyle and that will go completely wrong one day then look stunning on another.
Give us a brief summary of your wash day regimen
I start by using a Tea Tree shampoo only applying this to the roots of my hair (as shampoo is drying). I only use shampoo once a week! I then use Tresemme Naturals conditioner which is my latest favourite; I leave this in for 5-10 minutes before washing it out. Once I’ve rinsed the conditioner I wrap it in a towel and dry it a bit so its not dripping wet. I then use Dark and Lovely Leave in Conditioner, heat protector (if I plan to diffuse my hair) and an argan oil serum!

If you were stuck on a desert island and you could only have ONE hair product, what would you choose?
If I could only have one product it would have to be 3 minute miracle by Aussie.
Tell us two DOs and two DON’Ts for your natural hair
DOs: Use products made for natural hair or ones that don’t contain too many chemicals. Get rid of any split ends when they start to appear.

DON’Ts: Use any hair dye! Brush while dry.
Give us one piece of advice you would give to someone wanting to go natural
Don’t be afraid to do the big chop if you have to – most natural girls have had to do it at some point. The growing out process may be a bit difficult but the end results are worth it!
