Hello guysssss!!
I hope 2015 is going well for you so far! It’s going pretty well for me so far but with that comes a great deal of work and responsibility so life is kind of kicking my butt right now, but in a good way if that makes sense! We all know nothing worth having comes easy so this is happy chaos lol.

Here we go again with another feature from the lovely Noni!

Tell us your name, where you’re from and where you live
Noni Irukwu, I’m British-Nigerian and I live in London

How long have you been natural? And why did you decide to go natural?
I’ve been natural all my life but I had a bad salon experience and decided to start taking matters like hair care into my own hands about 3 years ago

What’s the best and worst thing about being natural?
Best – your hair can do almost anything if you figure out how to manipulate it.

Worst – my hair is very high maintenance – I always have to plan in advance.

Give us a brief summary of your wash day regimen
– Section my hair into 4-6 sections, pre-poo with an olive oil/coconut oil mix and let that sit for 30 minutes
– Taking a section at a time, I work conditioner into the hair and on my scalp (if I have a lot of build up, I’ll do a shampoo-conditioner mix)
– Rinse this out (whilst removing any obvious knots)
– Cover the hair in A LOT of conditioner (usually Organix) and detangle with a wide-tooth comb
– Twist section and repeat on all the other sections, then leave under a plastic cap and a towel for deep-conditioning (anything from an hour to overnight)
– Wash out the conditioner and decide what I’m going to do (I always style my hair: twist out, braid out, french plaits etc – I’ve had bad wash-n-go experiences)

If you were stuck on a desert island and you could only have ONE hair product, what would you choose?
Cantu Shea Moisture leave-in conditioner – it is everything!

Tell us two DOs and two DON’Ts for your natural hair
DOs: Learn what works for your hair and have go to styles that you can always do when everything seems to be going wrong e.g. the my-hair-is-dry-but-you’ll-never-know low bun. Treat your edges kindly, protect them and don’t pull on them too much.
DON’Ts: Keep protective styles too long or do them consecutively without rest periods.

Give us one piece of advice you would give to someone wanting to go natural
Treat your hair with care

That’s all for today, folks!! I really am gonna try to post a bit more but, like I said, life is very busy right now! Take care!
