Hey hey beautiful peopleeeee!!
How are you all?? I know I’ve taken a pretty long hiatus from the blog. For that, I apologise but that is not without good reason! I have lots to tell you guys about life recently!
Firstly, I have moved to Los Angeles, California! A bit of a surprise, I know (well, it’s not a surprise if you follow me on Instagram but yeah!). As many of you know, I go to university in London but my course allows for a year abroad and I chose to go to Los Angeles! That is the main reason I’ve been MIA lately. Moving half way around the world and trying to settle in ain’t easy, kids! I am lovinggg it so far – especially, the gorgeous weather! If anyone has any recommendations of stuff I should try while I’m here, please tell me! I’ll be in school here till June.

Thennnn just as I was ready to get back into blogging, I fell pretty damn ill! STRESS! Had to go to the hospital after displaying some worrying symptoms. I was on antibiotics for TEN days, which just sucked the energy outta me! Anyway, I’m feeling soooo much better now so I’M BACK!
Anyway, onto what you guys are here for: HAIR!! And this one applies to everyone – natural, transitioning, relaxed etc. I’m talking about biotin! Now biotin is a water-soluble B-vitamin that usually comes in the form of tablets. It is often taken for the maintenance of healthy skin and nails as well as a host of other medical issues one may have. It is found in certain foods in fairly small quantities (e.g. peanuts, dark leafy greens, liver etc) however, due to the small quantities, people often take biotin in supplement form. I don’t want to get too science-y on you guys (not that I know much about science!) so I’ll tell you about my experience using biotin.
I first used biotin in 2013. If I remember correctly, I took it for about 3 months and I noticed an improvement in my hair. So what it did for me:

I was wondering if you had any tips on how to soften thick natural hair, the kind that breaks combs.
Hi! I know just what you mean with the breaking combs thing lol. My number one tip would definitely be to deep condition. Deep conditioning helps to soften the hair, making it easier to comb. You could also try hot oil treatments as well. Also, for evennn softer hair, try steaming your hair while you deep condition. Or if you don't have a steamer, when you've put the deep conditioner on, put on a shower cap then wrap a towel around it or wear a beanie or something. This will create a warm environment for the deep conditioner, softening the hair further. Also, make sure to keep your hair as moisturised as possible. The more moisturised your hair is, the softer it'll be.
