2016 HAIR AND SKINCARE FAVOURITES (SO FAR!)

Hey hey hey!

How are you cuties?? Sorry I’ve been MIA lately! Life has been super super hectic lately.

Those of you who’ve been following me for a minute know that I love to check in and fill you in on some of my faves of the year. If you’re new on these streets, I do this twice a year – June/July and December. So let’s jump right in!

HAIR

1) DevaCurl Low Poo (buy here)

This has become one of my can’t-live-without products. I’ve recently started using some sort of cleanser on my hair every week (a post on this coming up soon!) and my hair has been growing like crazy lately. I particularly love this cleanser because it leaves my hair feeling clean but it does not strip my hair of moisture. SCORE!

2) Bumble and bumble Bb.Curl Anti-Humidity Gel-Oil (buy here or here)

This is a really cool product I came across while watching YouTube videos. As the name dictates, it’s pretty much a cross between a gel and an oil, so it provides hold as well as being a sealant. I loveeeee this product! It defines the curls without making the hair crunchy, it doesn’t weigh the hair down and a little goes a long way so it’ll probably last you a while.

3) Hair Steamer (buy here)

This steamer has changed my hair omg! I did a whole post about the benefits of steaming your hair but I can’t stress enough how much steaming has improved the health of my hair. It keeps my hair soft and manageable, makes the curls pop and allows my hair to really absorb the moisture.

4) Vitagoods Scalp Massaging Shampoo Brush (buy here)

This scalp massager is like a portable spa experience. Okay, not really but it’s pretty amazing! Not only does this massager feel really nice on the scalp, it actually speeds up hair growth. The massager exfoliates the scalp (removing build up so that the follicles aren’t blocked) and it increases blood flow to the scalp (allowing hair to grow faster). It is definitely worth buying in my opinion! It’s pretty handy that it’s waterproof so you can use it in the shower

SKIN

1) Pure Argan Oil (buy here or here)

Omg argan oil is my new bae! I used to use this on my hair but it never occurred to me to try it on my skin and now I’m hooked. I use it every single day with my normal moisturiser (Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Day Lotion) – I mix the two together and it works amazingly well. My skin has been softer, smoother and clearer than ever. The only downside is that this oil is on the pricey side – however, a little goes a longggg way. I only use a few drops daily. And if you don’t wanna spend all that money on some oil, go for almond oil – I use it all the time and it’s so good!

2) Pure Aloe Vera Gel (buy here)

I’ve been using this one on and off for quite some time but I’ve started using it constantly again and I’m loving it. I kinda use it as a toner. So after washing my face, I apply a thin layer of this gel before my moisturiser. It has really helped to moisturise and rejuvenate my insanely dry skin. Also, when I had a bad case of sunburn on my face that left me with dry patches on my face (which I am still recovering from), this was the only thing that really helped to heal it.

3) The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream (buy here)

Guysssssss this eye cream omg. I have always had dark circles under my eyes (sad face) and recently, due to a lack of sleep because of uni, I started to notice creases underneath my eyes. No bueno! So I went on the hunt for an affordable but good eye cream and I found this one. It is SO good! It has really helped with the creases and dark circles – in combination with loadssss of water and sleep. One thing I will say is that you have to use it religiously, morning and night! But it works!

4) Shea Moisture Hydrating Mud Mask

This is a new purchase and I loveeeee!! If you remember in my 4 Masks for Glowing Skin post, I mentioned the Aniise mask. Well this is a cheaper alternative that’s just as good as the Aniise one. It leaves my skin soft and hydrated but also clean and fresh, as it’s a mud mask. This is definitely one of my 2016 faves!
